Yes, government requires you renew to maintain enforcement. The government fee is $80 per trademark classification. Your renewal should be filed around the same time that you renew with the U.S. PTO (every 9 - 10 years).
You specify the allowed origins of manufacture, companies of allowed manufacture and U.S. Customs Border Protection targets and seizes imports of counterfeit and pirated goods that don't meet your allowed criteria. You must be careful and provide accurate and detailed information because you certainly do not want your own imports accidentally seized and destroyed.
The U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement agency fee is $190 per trademark classification.
